Bookings & Deposits
A booking is confirmed only on receipt of a 50% deposit. Provisional holds are kept for 48 hours, after which the dates are released without further notice.
A refundable breakage deposit of R2,500 is payable together with the balance. It is returned within 7 days of departure, less any deductions for breakage, damage or additional cleaning.
Payment
The balance of the letting fee is due 30 days before arrival, payable by EFT or by card via our office. Bookings made within 30 days of arrival are payable in full at the time of booking.
All rates are quoted in South African Rand and include VAT.
Cancellations
Should you need to cancel, the following applies:
- More than 60 days before arrival — deposit refunded, less a R500 administration fee.
- Between 30 and 60 days before arrival — 50% of the deposit is forfeited.
- Fewer than 30 days before arrival — the full amount is forfeited, unless we are able to re-let the unit for the same dates.
We strongly recommend taking out travel insurance to cover the unexpected.
Occupancy & Conduct
Only the number of guests stated on the booking may occupy the property. No parties, functions or day visitors beyond the sleeping capacity are permitted.
The rules of the relevant body corporate or estate apply to all guests, and right of admission is reserved.
Breakages
Guests are asked to report any breakage or damage to our office as soon as it occurs; reasonable wear and tear is excepted.
Costs are deducted from the breakage deposit, and any shortfall will be invoiced to the guest.
Check-in & Check-out
Check-in is from 14:00 on the day of arrival and check-out is by 10:00 on the day of departure. Early arrival or late departure is by prior arrangement only and subject to availability.
Keys are collected from our office at 29 Sandra Road, Ballito during office hours — Mon–Fri 7:30–17:00, Sat–Sun 7:30–14:00.
Pets
Pets are welcome only at properties expressly marked pet-friendly, and by prior written arrangement with our office. Pets may never be left unattended at the property.
Any damage or additional cleaning attributable to a pet is for the guest’s account.
Liability
Guests occupy the property entirely at their own risk. Neither Ballito Accommodation nor the property owner is liable for any loss, theft, injury, load-shedding, or interruption of water, electricity or other services beyond our reasonable control.
Nothing in these conditions limits any rights you may have under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008.
